
Ghanaian rapper Amerado has spoken about the significant influence of veteran musician Okyeame Kwame and other artists on his career.
During an interview on TV3 Showbiz 360, Amerado reflected on his journey from times of uncertainty to his current success and acknowledged the support he has received from his fellow artists and fans.He also highlighted the tremendous support and influence these artists had on him, which impacted his musical journey.
He applauded rap doctor Okyeame Kwame and a number of other music gurus who defended him.
Okyeame Kwame is always first and I will always applaud him. “Amerado also acknowledged the support and influence of other artists such as Eugene Praye (Horni Hor), Ofori Amponsah, the late Daasebre Gyamenah and Obrafour.”As Amerado reflected on his career as a musician, he shared the struggles and challenges he faced just to support himself.“
I went to England and debated whether to return to my career or stay there, which I knew was not allowed. I made it a point to come back after consulting a few people.
When I came back, it was much more difficult. I played at the casino and gambled. Sometimes I’m hungry, so I have to go to friends’ houses to earn money to eat.
Despite the obstacles, Amerado expressed his commitment to constant improvement and growth in the music industry, acknowledging that there is a certain pressure that comes with it.
