Wendy Shay, in an interview with Giovanni Caleb on TV3’s Showbiz 360, noted that some Ghanaians view the Grammys as a world championship and advised people to manage their expectations.
He highlighted the power of music and gave examples of legendary artists like Tupac and Bob Marley, who did not receive a Grammy, but still have a significant impact on the annals of music.“I think our Ghanaian brothers should be careful about their expectations when they hear something like this because they tend to see it as a World Cup.” In my opinion, music transcends all these things.
This is not to be understated: the Grammy is the most distinguished honor in music.“It’s nice to be recognized; we will all be happy if, God willing, we win one day,” he said in an interview with Giovanni Caleb aired on TV3’s Showbiz 360 programme. “But if it happens, it won’t necessarily be the end of the world.”
