B.E.T Award winning Ghanaian music sensation, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, professionally known as Black Sherif, has revealed that he continues to indulge in thrift culture and stocks up on fashion items at the popular second-hand clothing market, Kanta.
Despite his fame and success in the Ghanaian music industry, the “Oh No” hitmaker remains true to his preferences and highlights the enduring charm and appeal of saving money.
Kantamanto is the hub of thrift store (foose) items in Accra, Ghana, attributed mostly to the less fortunate. However, according to Blacko, a celebrity who can afford big brands, Kantamanto is the hub where she finds items that fit her unique style.
The crooner, who appeared as a guest on Nana Ama McBrown’s Onua Showtime on Sunday, November 12, 2023, revealed that he has a team of local male vendors in the popular market who provide him with the clothes and fabrics that suit his unique style.
Kanta’s favorite pieces are his usual oversized jeans and vintage sweaters which he says fit his Konongo-zongo lifestyle.I work with my guys in Kanta, my guys who sell clothes are in Kantamanto and they make the best selection for me. “My boys Kijo and Co,” Black Sheriff revealed, noting the collaboration in choosing his outfits.
